Astander participates in the project “research into intelligent and sustainable naval solutions for the automation of advanced logistics and intermodal processes from the port to the last mile (clean ports 5.0)”, supported by the ministry of science and innovation and subsidised by CDTI.

The main objective of the project is to improve logistics processes for the complete handling of goods at a multimodal level (containers, bulk, pallets and last mile parcels) by incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and collaborative robotics in the automation of processes, optimisation platforms, new more sustainable vehicles, the incorporation of renewable energies and energy sectors such as hydrogen.

OBJECTIVES:

1: To guarantee the sustainability of logistics management and intermodality in port processes.

2: To optimise goods transfer operations in the port and its logistics chain.

3: To optimise in a holistic manner, integrating all modes of transport in the naval logistics chain into a single collaborative flow.

4: To achieve functional prototypes and their validation in controlled environments in different national ports.

Some of the expected results of this project are: obtaining a prototype for monitoring draught marks on bulk carriers; creation of an intelligent module for automatic palletising and depalletising by means of collaborative robotics; Astander digital twin for optimising and improving logistics flows; optimisation of energy consumption in port processes.
