ASTANDER is part of the consortium of the DTNAVAL project, which focuses on the digital transformation of shipyards through the development of advanced technologies aligned with Industry 4.0. The project addresses key areas such as intelligent manufacturing, process automation, predictive maintenance, and real-time data management.

The goal of DTNAVAL is to implement disruptive digital tools and smart systems that enable shipyards to optimize production, improve safety and efficiency, and enhance overall competitiveness. By integrating technologies like artificial intelligence, digital twins, and additive manufacturing, the project aims to create a new shipyard model that is agile, connected, and sustainable.

The DTNAVAL project is a strategic sector-wide initiative focused on accelerating the digital transformation of Spanish shipyards. Supported by the PERTE Naval program, it aims to develop and validate disruptive technologies that modernize shipyard operations and align them with Industry 4.0 standards. The project spans the entire shipbuilding value chain—from design and construction to maintenance and repair—introducing smart, connected, and sustainable solutions.

DTNAVAL addresses key challenges such as low automation, fragmented data systems, and limited integration of emerging technologies. It will implement advanced tools including digital twins, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and robotics to optimize production, reduce downtime, and improve safety. The project also explores new methodologies for predictive maintenance, intelligent logistics, and real-time monitoring of operations.

ASTANDER is one of the seven shipyards participating in the DTNAVAL project, contributing its long-standing expertise in ship repair, transformation, and industrial innovation. As part of a multidisciplinary consortium, ASTANDER plays a key role in testing and validating advanced digital technologies designed to modernize shipyard operations and improve overall efficiency.

The shipyard is actively involved in the development of intelligent systems for welding, painting, and predictive maintenance, as well as in the integration of digital twins and real-time monitoring platforms. ASTANDER also supports the creation of smart logistics and asset tracking solutions, helping to streamline workflows and reduce operational costs.

Through its participation, ASTANDER reinforces its commitment to sustainability and positions itself as a leader in the transition toward a low-carbon naval industry.
