The AUTOLOG project is developed under the “Misiones Ciencia e Innovación 2024” programme (Mission 5: Flexible, automated, secure and intelligent logistics environment) and focuses on the research and development of advanced technological solutions aimed at transforming logistics systems into more flexible, automated, secure, and intelligent ecosystems. The initiative responds to the increasing need for resilient supply chains capable of adapting to complex operational conditions and unexpected disruptions.

AUTOLOG integrates key enabling technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), collaborative robotics, autonomous vehicles (AGVs and AMRs), Big Data architectures, blockchain, and advanced 2D/3D machine vision systems. Rather than addressing these technologies separately, the project adopts an integrated approach in which automation, intelligent data processing, and secure digital traceability work together to optimize logistics operations across different stages of the supply chain.

The project validates its technological developments in three representative environments: maritime shipyards, industrial intralogistics within manufacturing facilities, and logistics distribution centers. In the maritime environment, AUTOLOG investigates robotic and autonomous solutions for complex material handling and picking operations under demanding and dynamic conditions. In industrial settings, it develops advanced indoor–outdoor navigation systems, predictive maintenance models, and AI-based optimization tools to improve route planning and operational efficiency. In distribution centers, the project explores machine vision technologies and multisensory data platforms to enhance goods identification, shipment verification, and real-time monitoring.

Overall, AUTOLOG aims to deliver functional prototypes and integrated technological components that combine robotics, autonomous navigation, artificial intelligence, and secure data infrastructures. Through this multidisciplinary approach, the project seeks to strengthen operational efficiency, adaptability, and reliability in highly complex logistics environments.

In addition, the project places strong emphasis on real-time data acquisition and multisensor integration, enabling continuous monitoring of logistics operations across different scenarios. By leveraging advanced data analytics and interoperable digital platforms, AUTOLOG enhances decision-making processes and supports proactive management strategies capable of anticipating potential disruptions before they impact operational performance.

Furthermore, AUTOLOG contributes to the digital transformation of the logistics sector by fostering interoperability between physical automation systems and digital intelligence layers. This integration not only improves operational transparency and traceability but also establishes a scalable technological foundation that can be replicated and adapted to various industrial and maritime contexts, reinforcing the long-term evolution toward smarter and more sustainable supply chains.
