Astander is implementing a digital material traceability solution in collaboration with Evenbytes, aimed at improving control, transparency, and efficiency in material management throughout the shipbuilding and repair process.
The objective of this project is to ensure end-to-end material traceability from reception at the plant to final installation on board vessels, including batch and manufacturer control, while ensuring data reliability and regulatory compliance.

The solution is developed on the Origamee cloud-based platform, which enables the digitalization of operational processes through modular components such as data entry forms, QR/NFC scanning, workflows, notifications, geolocation, offline operation, and integration with external systems. Current paper-based work orders are digitized using AI-powered OCR technology, allowing automatic data extraction, validation by the technical office, and centralized management of information.
This digital system supports advanced reporting and data exploitation, enabling queries such as identifying all materials installed on a specific vessel or tracking the use of a particular batch across different projects. Additionally, the platform allows bidirectional integration with SAGE, business intelligence analysis, quality control and non-conformity management, stock control with alerts, and real-time operational dashboards.
Overall, the project contributes to process digitalization, operational efficiency, and quality improvement, reducing manual tasks, minimizing errors, and providing a scalable and flexible solution aligned with Industry 4.0 principles.
